Frequently asked questions

Clear answers about portrait sessions, commercial assignments and the practical process of working together.

01I do not feel comfortable in front of a camera. Can you help?

Yes. Most people are not used to being photographed. I explain what to expect and give calm, specific direction throughout the session, so you are never left wondering what to do. We work together towards photographs that feel confident without feeling forced.

02Where can a portrait session take place?

Sessions can take place in my private portrait studio in central Amsterdam, in several distinctive interiors within the same building, outdoors, at your workplace or at another agreed location. Indoor and outdoor settings can be combined when that supports the brief.

03How are portrait sessions priced?

Before you book, you receive a clear proposal covering the session scope, preparation, studio or location, proof gallery, final-image fees, retouching, delivery and permitted use. You select the final photographs you want me to complete. No prices are published on the website because each session is shaped around its purpose and practical requirements.

04How do image selection and retouching work?

The selection process depends on the assignment. You may receive a proof gallery from which to choose, or I may deliver an agreed curated selection. Final images are carefully edited and naturally retouched. The aim is for people to remain polished, real and recognisably themselves.

05What should I wear?

We discuss clothing before the session. In general, bring options that fit how you want to be seen and avoid anything that makes you feel unlike yourself. For team assignments, I can provide concise preparation guidance for everyone being photographed.

06How are commercial assignments priced and licensed?

Leadership, editorial, team, campaign and event assignments are quoted individually. Before confirming a commission, we agree the preparation, production, photography, editing, delivery, travel, turnaround and intended use. The proposal then states clearly where, for how long and in which channels or markets the final photographs may be used.

07How quickly will I receive the photographs?

Turnaround depends on the size and urgency of the assignment. We agree delivery timing in advance, including any priority images needed quickly for communications or media use.

08How do we begin?

Send a short note explaining who needs to be photographed, what the images should communicate, and the preferred timing and location. I will respond personally with a recommended next step.
